Who we are
NDS is the main walnut exporter in the south of Chile. It was
originally developed with the purpose of delivering to tables in the five continents,
walnut products with high added value and the unique seal and differentiation of the south of Chile.
Our initiative is based upon strategic alliances developed by a few walnut producers from the south of Chile,
with a strong focus on value creation through process innovation and development, leading up into competitive
advantages and a differentiated portfolio of products.
Nowadays, NDS process and commercialize the fruit produced in our orchards according
to high quality policies and complying with Chilean Walnut Commission standards. Furthermore, we asses
and support other farmers in the development of their projects in southern Chile. Our business model is
oriented to establish strategic alliances and partnerships which contributes to put walnuts
from south of Chile in the best markets and close to the farmers and the final clients with
our assessment and exportation services.
Company
Southern Walnuts bases its development upon the establishment of strategic alliances with both farmers and final clients. Through a process of strategic alliances between important and pioneer farmers from the south of Chile, this initiative was born. Up to date, we have processed and exported premium quality fruit with success and a huge growing perspective.

Matías is a Mechanical Engineer and Master of Business Administration. He has deeply investigated the post-harvesting processes and the marketing of walnuts. He also has an interesting entrepreneurship experience. Currently General Manager of NDS and El Rincón Packing.
Agrícola Enrique Sabugo S.A.
Agricola ESC is owned by Sabugo family, which has a long history related with agribusiness in companies like Empresas Gorbea (Molinera Gorbea Limitada) and Ferias Araucania. Currently, Agrícola ESC manages a 300 hectares hazelnut orchard located in Gorbea, Chile.

Walnuts and hazelnut products have a lot of benefits for your health, with a delicate flavor which makes possible

It is well known in the global market that Chilean walnuts and hazelnuts have an outstanding quality.
The size, color, flavor and durability of all those characteristics shows a clear difference that give us
a leading position as one of the most important exporting countries worldwide.
Walnuts from south of Chile area, in particular, characterized for an even lighter color of their kernels,
which in addition to the purity of Alto Bio Bio fields, good agricultural practices implemented by our
farmers and an strong quality assurance process for our products allow us to offer premium class fruit, unique in the world.
Additionally, all NDS operations are based on sustainability with
focus on energy efficiency and fair trade.

Currently we have the capacity to offer inshell walnuts in several packaging formats according to your requirements during the months of April to July. Our standard offer format is described in the technical sheet below.

We are working with top class-state of the art equipment which gives us very little mechanical damage. Our plant started operation during 2019.

Hazelnut Kernels
Our hazelnut kernels are available from April to November in different packaging
and quantities adjustable to your needs. Our standard offer format is described in the technical sheet below.
We are working with top class-state of the art equipment which gives us very little mechanical damage.
Exceptionally we can also offer inshell hazelnuts. All our hazelnut products are Barcelona Variety.
Our products are part of
Orchards
Our main orchards are located by the Mulchén river, from the town same named. It has an extension of 100 planted hectares of Chandler variety with a growing plan to reach 150 hectares in 2023. Our processing plant El Rincón Packing is located right next to our orchard, which makes all the logistics and harvesting-packing coordination much easier. We have also been cultivating other traditional products and fruits at this family farms since 1936.

El Rincón Packing
Our plant, Frutos Secos El Rincón SpA, is locted in km 3 camino caledonia, Mulchen - Chile. It
has about 10.000 square meters in which we have an inshell line which considers sizing
decks, hand selection, optical sorting selection and final packing with a capacity of 5.000 kg
per hour.
Our plant also has a walnut shelling and packing line with a capacity of 4.000 kg per hour. All
our equipment is top class industry which give us operational flexibility and premium final
quality products with very low mechanical damage.
